The seed was planted
A number of years ago I bought a white RangeRover Vogue 4 Door with the intention of making it into a rag top pick up. I did a great job of taking the roof off and cutting the back off and then I lost interest due to it needing too much work. However the seed was planted and when this 1975 2 Door came up for sale I knew it would be a fantastic project (dangers of Ebay) . I resisted bidding on it and emailed the link over to my father (not expecting any response).
It was not until a few weeks later, I found out that he had bought it and it was arriving at yard in just a few days. Described as having a Dutch MOT and would make a great work horse it was far away from getting any sort MOT. Some may argue it should have a Rover V8 in her but this beast is powered by an Isuzu 2.8 TD which seems to have plenty of power and runs sweet as a nut,
We had originally planned to register and sell it hear in the UK however after some thought and realising how good the mechanics were and how bad the British Leyland steel was, we decided to do a light restoration on her, starting out with a lot of welding.
Not limited to but to will include the following:
- Rear cross member
- body mounts
- rear inner wings
- rear floor
- front inner wings
- front drivers side floor
Pictures coming soon of the work underway!
This is what we hope it will look like by the end of the project.
